I have never professed to being good with plants - particularly house plants. I've managed to kill almost every one I've ever had. Right now I have one pothos that is going on two years now - that's got to be some kind of record for me!
A bit over a year ago, my mom gave me a tiny little start of an aloe vera plant, in a yogurt cup. It was maybe 3 little stalks poking up out of the dirt, about 3 inches tall and no bigger around than my pinky finger. Apparently this aloe likes my north-facing kitchen window, because it's gone crazy. It's got branches two inches thick and a foot high. I've had to re-pot it twice, and right now it's in desparate need of splitting into multiple pots. I've got a bunch of yogurt cups ready to go, just need to get some potting soil for them.
There's a calla lily peeking in on the picture on the right side. I've had that since March. So far so good, but we'll see!
I guess your thumb is becoming green!! :) i love aloe vera
